Christmas music can really get irritating, what with "Driving Home for Christmas" and "All I Want for Christmas" playing in all the shops from October onwards... The only half-decent tunes in a bar on Christmas Eve are usually "Fairytale of New York" (which, to be honest, is almost never played) or Bob Dylan's "Adeste Fideles" (which is great, because you get to hear Dylan singing in Latin, but unfortunately it's really never played at all).

One exception amongst the Christmas jingles is this project from singer Andrea Pancur. In "Weihnukka", this prize-winning, quirky Yiddish-Bavarian song heroine combines a Bavarian Christmas (or "Weihnachten" with thw Jewish festival of Hannukah, making the Christmas tree baubles dizzy with excitement, and the Hannukah candles shine just a bit brighter with delight.

It's fun!

It's festive!

It will make you think.

It will steal your heart.

It will make you want to join the party!

Ach, who we are kidding - it will make you want to join in both parties!
